Since the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak MDA teams have tested more than 2, 700,000 people
Magen David Adom announced today (Thursday), that since the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak (February 24), MDA teams have tested 2,721,131 people. The tests were performed, during the past 9 months, at a variety of sites, nationwide, in private homes, clinics, hospitals, nursing homes as part of the “Protecting Fathers and Mothers” project, educational institutions, and in MDA Drive and Test facilities.
Last week (19.11- 25.11) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Home Front Command and the HMOs, MDA EMTs and paramedics have sampled 136,931. 5,266 tests were taken in people’s homes and 101,832 at MDA’s and Home Front Command’s Drive and Test facilities.
According to MDA data, since the Coronavirus outbreak 381,816 tests were taken in people’s homes.
1,033,673 tests were taken at MDA’s Drive and Test facilities operating in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Home Front Command and HMOs. Of those, 110,833 were sampled in Tel Aviv, of those 86,7417 in Ganey Yehoshua complex, 161,187 were sampled in Jerusalem, of those in 85,065 Teddy complex In Jerusalem, 26,335 in Sheikh Jarrah in East Jerusalem, 31,973 in Haifa, 27,096 in Hadera, 28,830 in Kfar Sava, Ashdod 37,378, Bnei Brak 20,608, Netanya 31,650 , 20,712 in Um al-Fahm, 22,520 in Beer Sheva, Lod 22,350, and 26,990 people were sampled in Rishon le Zion and 16,182 in Modi’in Ilit, 16,215 in Modi’in- Maccabim- Reut,16,783 in Rehovot, Qalansawe 12,424 and in Petach Tikva 21,519.,in Tira 10,520 and in Eilat-15,836.in Holon 11,346, Nes-Ziona 10,678, Sakhnin 10,616, Baqa al-Gharbiyye10,225 and in Carmiel 10,176.
In addition, as needed, Magen David Adom operates additional Drive and Test complexes throughout the country.
MDA is continuing to operate the Drive and Test facilities, whilst also carrying out testing in nursing homes and long term care facilities throughout the country. In addition, as needed, MDA teams will sample those who are homebound.
To date, MDA sampled 5,747 travellers who returned to Israel from abroad at a special stand in Ben Gurion airport.
In addition, MDA Paramedics have taken 3,000 serological tests, and evacuated thousands of confirmed patients from their home for hospitalization
MDA’s 101 Emergency Call Centers also show a significant increase in citizen inquiries, which reached 10,325 calls a day this week, an increase of about 170% compared to a routine day.
Along with taking more 2,721,000 of samples for Coronavirus, MDA blood services continue to collect plasma from those who have recovered from the Coronavirus for the treatment of severely ill patients and the production of a passive vaccine. To date, those who have recovered from Coronavirus have donated approximately 11,991 plasma units. 3,374 units have been given to 1,687 Coronavirus patients in moderate and severe condition (2 units each).
MDA is continuing its testing process in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Home Front Command and the four HMOs and carrying out verified patients’ transfers to hospitalization, all in addition to the organization’s routine and emergency activities.
