National Service within Magen David Adom (MDA) provides essential and professional training for young Israelis, preparing them for careers in emergency medicine while contributing to society.
The program is open to individuals from all sectors of Israeli society—Jews, Christians, Muslims, Druze, ultra-Orthodox communities, and those exempt from military service. Volunteers can choose to serve in mixed or separate groups, depending on their cultural and personal preferences.
National Service in MDA is a one- or two-year commitment that includes:
- A full Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course.
- Housing and living expenses.
- Ongoing training and professional development.
- Essential equipment and support for operational activities.
Graduates of the program commit to volunteering at MDA for at least one additional year after completing their National Service. Many continue to work or volunteer with MDA, making a lasting contribution to emergency medical care in Israel.
