Magen David Adom received a call that a woman obtained a shoulder injury. When the ambulance arrived, the crew discovered that Vivian dislocated her shoulder while trying to open the car door.
“When we got there, Vivian was in a lot of pain,” said Eran Neve, a senior EMT. “Her son told me they were about to leave for his brother’s wedding. I promised Vivian that we would get her there on time.”
Eran called the clinic in Modi’in and informed them they were on the way. He insisted Vivian be treated immediately.
Once Vivian’s shoulder was set back in place and she was given pain killers, the MDA team drove Vivian to her son’s wedding in the ambulance. She rode down the aisle in the stretcher, transformed into its wheelchair position.
Guests and family were moved to tears to see the mother of the groom arrive. “It was an amazing sense of satisfaction to keep our promise to Vivian, who stood by her son under the chuppah,” said Eran.
