Israel’s Frontline Paramedics
Magen David Adom is Israel’s largest provider of paramedics, with over 1,000 highly trained professionals working alongside more than 33,000 dedicated volunteers who proudly serve with the nation’s emergency medical service.
Because of their advanced training, paramedics are typically assigned to MDA’s Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) ambulances, which respond to the most critical emergencies. Paramedics are qualified to intubate patients, manage respiration, and administer a broad range of life-saving medications.
During surges in COVID-19 cases, MDA implemented a ground breaking remote monitoring system. Paramedics stationed at MDA’s National Operations Centre could monitor patients’ vital signs in real time, supporting EMTs on the ground and ensuring that early signs of serious medical issues were never missed — even in patients who appeared stable.
This innovative system remains in use today, providing an additional layer of care and reinforcing MDA’s reputation for cutting-edge emergency medical services.
Sponsor a Paramedic — and Help Save Lives Across Israel
Paramedics are the most highly trained members of Israel’s emergency medical teams, playing a vital role in life-saving care nationwide.
To become a certified paramedic (EMT-P), candidates must complete over 1,500 hours of rigorous training — far beyond the 200 hours required for basic EMTs (EMT-B) or 400 hours for senior EMTs (EMT-I).
The intensive two-year training program costs AUD 36,000 per paramedic.
By sponsoring a paramedic, you’re making a lasting impact on Israeli lives.
You’ll receive updates on their progress and share in their journey as they train to save lives throughout Israel.
